Chiaki Takahashi, a renowned sake maker from Japan, approached us to help realize her vision of reviving sake brewing in Hawaii. As a sake enthusiast, Ms. Takahashi learned about the Gannenmono, the first Japanese immigrants to Hawaii, who introduced sake brewing to the islands. Sadly, the last sake brewery in Hawaii closed down in 1986, ending the Gannenmono's legacy. Our client aims to open a new brewery that combines advanced brewing techniques with the rich history of Japanese sake and the spirit of Aloha.

We decided to go for a modern, tropical look to help attract Western audiences to the sake brewery. Then we combined Japanese textile patterns with Polynesian ones to show the fusion of the two cultures.
